This is a test on the BitcoinTestnet of profiles & signatures so that #AtomSea can get proficient in #Apertus so that he may discuss his finding with #embii, the lead developer of the epic #blockchain software. 
Blockchains allow anyone to immutably archive their story, work, art... anything. 
The author can offer up a tip address as well, allowing people to give them donations for their work. Or if they are really fancy, a way to unlock content for them to see after paying. Keys are pretty amazing. 
Profiles also allow you a network of trust. This allows people to see your public address that gives them all kids of options. A public key can be used like a PGP key for encrypted communications, or as a handshake for other programs you want to allew to be run...
And soooo much more.
